FOOD & SNACK TIPS
From Debbie, mother of 2:
* I like grapes, sliced apples, popcorn and, as the flight endures, break out the lollipops.
* Pez dispensers offer entertainment and candy – the perfect thing for getting through a landing. I also pack three or four peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that seem to last for days.
* Once, when a straw cup filled with yogurt exploded all
over us, I realized I had to be careful with pressurized cabins and food. So, when traveling with an infant, don’t forget a change of clothes for mom in your carry-on – an extra shirt at the very least.
From Heather, mother of 3:
* Room service portions are huge so I ask for extra plates to split orders and never tell the children how to order themselves or they’ll do it all the time!
From Gail, mother of a 2-yr-old:
* Now that the rules are strict and you can’t bring liquids from home, it’s trickier. I always bring his favorite sippy cup and bowl, so even if the drink or food isn’t familiar, at least the vessel is something he’s used to.
From Suzanne, mother of 2:
* Stay away from too much sugar on planes. The longer the flight, the more hyper the kids get.
