TRAVEL ENTERTAINMENT TIPS
From Debbie, mother of 2:
* Pez dispensers offer entertainment and candy – the perfect thing for getting through a landing. I also pack three or four peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that seem to last for days.
From Hilary, mother of 2:
* We recommend a new book and some new toys. Even a little playdough is fun. For the older children, a new video game makes it easier too.
From Heather, mother of 3:
* We’ve had great travels! I always pack a large variety of snacks and workbooks for the airplane. The workbooks are fun, they help pass the time and they are actually learning something!
* I bring DVD’s b/c hotels usually have DVD players in the rooms or you can ask for them.
* Almost any city has a zoo and/or a science museum so I always ask the concierge.
From Bettina, mother of 4:
* I try to bring something old & something new for the plane. A favorite blanket, toy or book is comforting for the kids, but the newness of a present received in mid-flight is very exciting.
* If you’re going on a long trip, space things out. Don’t break out the DVDs, books, games, etc. all in the first hour or you’re doomed.
From Suzanne, mother of 2:
* I always have my kids pick out their own toys and movies. That way they take part in the decision and they’re less likely to be bored than when I make the choice for them.
