We say if you’re going to spend the energy to do something, then do it with your own Tasty style. That means everything you do! Go ahead, make your kids’ breakfast with flair! Collect your mail from the mailbox with verve! Attack those dirty dishes with panache!

MOMPRENEUR-OF-THE-MONTH: MY OWN LITTLE STORY
There is a rhythmic beating sound accompanied by a chant: Mom-my, Mom-my, Mom-my. The sound is not coming from any musical device, it is the sound of Caden Coons kicking his mom’s chair while she feverishly works on her new website: My Own Little Story. Kristin Coons, Cade’s mom, doesn’t feel bad for taking thirty minutes to herself- after all, she has already been to the park, played Legos and jumped on the trampoline with her son. “This is just part of our routine- I don’t give into the mommy guilt because I deserve some time to follow my dreams. My kids will appreciate it later.” Kristin explains.
Over the last three years Kristin has been steadily working on bringing a dream to life, an online baby book complete with timely email reminders to help keep busy parents on track with recording their child’s most important milestones. Her business was born out of necessity. She is a mom of three boys aged 4, 7 and 8. After having her first son, Evan, she was able to find the time to complete a baby book, which covered his first year of milestones. However, after having her second son just 15 months after the first; the idea of journaling, scrapbooking or jotting down memories required time that just didn’t exist in her day.

When her third son, Caden, was born she searched online to find a baby book with a reminder system…so she wouldn’t forget to record the highlights of his life. Her search proved fruitless and she decided to create the product herself! After taking her concept to several programmers, she found a firm that was willing and able to breathe life into her dream.
“Building my own business has been a labor of love. There were times when I wondered if I could really see this project through to the finish”, Kristin concedes. Her perseverance paid off. Her website, www.MyOwnLittleStory.com, includes several unique features that are not available on any other baby book sites. The Milestone Memory System is a free service that sends reminder emails to parents with a direct link to their child’s story. The pages are tastefully adorned with hand-painted watercolor originals that are timeless and sophisticated. Users don’t pay a dime unless they choose to order a hard-bound version of their child’s story. Even then, My Own Little Story has a book to fit every budget. A few additional features: ability to share your child’s story with friends and family, upload photos and create custom pages. Take a tour of My Own Little Story, start recording the details before they fade from your memory.

TASTY... NOT WASTY

- Liane Weintraub, Editor-in-Chief
We’ll admit it – we love our catchy slogans and phrases. We toss around sayings like “have a tasty day!” and we sign our emails with “tasty regards.” Some may find it silly, but it puts a smile on our faces. We were recently asked about one of the sayings we use to describe our packaging materials: “tasty … not wasty.” What exactly, one gentleman asked, makes our packaging so tasty?
