WHY I LOVE THIS PICTURE
• First and foremost because it was taken by Hallie, who, looking through the lens of love, colors me beautiful.
• I love this picture because it was a Chamber of Commerce Day in Houston (heat and humidity are not kind stylists).
• I love this picture because of the gorgeous butterflies fluttering around families in the dappled sunlight, courtesy of our fabulous Houston Museum of Natural Science.
• In this photo I am wearing my powerful Race to Erase MS bracelets that I developed and helped produce with Alexandra Knight to raise funds for MS, a disease that I was diagnosed with 2 years ago. I feel strong in these bracelets, like I can change the world.
• I am an imperfect mother and an imperfect woman, but in this photo, I am joyous, pretty and happy. I am wearing the same dress I had worn the night before to dinner (my theory being: the more dry cleaning, the worse things look) and my hair is not freshly washed (my theory being: it takes WAY too much energy to wash and blow it dry … AGAIN!!!). This is how I roll.
This picture is a fine example of how I feel on a beautiful Sunday afternoon spent with family and friends in my beautiful life. I am a blessed mother.
