JOHN RAGOZZINE
As this is a bio, you might expect to learn John’s age, where he grew up or went to college, and his preference of peanut butter consistency.  But smart money would be placed on you really wanting to know John’s true feelings about the movie The Breakfast Club.  For some reason, everyone around John’s age (b.1978) just loves this movie.  John, however, does not.  He’s likely to pontificate against this cinematic jaunt, citing how this movie is a celebration of fitting in and denying your true individual self.  But the real reason why John dislikes this film is because, if he were to honestly choose one of the high school archetypes to represent himself at that age, it would be Anthony Michael Hall’s Brian the awkward geek character.  And it’s not the dorkiness that insults John, it’s that Brian is the only character who doesn’t get paired up romantically by the time the credits roll.  Instead of making out, he gets to write the detention punishment essay and actually seems happy about it!  Even being Judd “Monster Nostril” Nelson or Emilio “Too Short” Esteves would be a better fate than this willful wallflower.

Along with not having a good handle on the definition of “digression”, John is proudest of his degrees in writing, philosophy, and teaching as well as having lived in every New England state (except for Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island).  As of May 2008, he lives along the coast of Maine with his wife, Megan, their one-year-old daughter, Hazel, and two cats of varying girth.  You can successfully stalk this cast of characters at John’s blog, From Here to Paternity.
