With the holiday season right around the corner and everyone’s wallets in a pinch there is no better time to give your loved ones a homemade gift then now. I am not talking about knitted socks or glittery ornaments but rather the most delicious tasty treats to use all year round! I promise you there will be no craft table, beading, or sewing necessary with these Tasty gifts!
Spiced Pear Jam
Tasty Ingredients
3 boxes (9 containers) of Tastybaby Hip 2B Pear®, defrosted
2 organic pears, finely diced
3 cups of organic sugar
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
Tasty Recipe
In a large saucepan combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer for two hours, stirring occasionally. Skim off any foam or deposits that are on the top of jelly.
When the jam is done cooking immediately pour into hot sterilized jars and seal according to manufacturer’s instructions. Tie the jar with a few strings of raffia, a cinnamon stick and a note with suggested uses!
Serve with homemade biscuits or served warm drizzled over ice cream.
Pumpkin Butter (Made with Squash ‘Em®!)
Tasty Ingredients
5 containers of Tastybaby Squash ‘Em®, defrosted
¼ cup organic brown sugar
2 tablespoons organic white sugar
¼ teaspoon ginger
¼ teaspoon ground cloves
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon allspice
¼ cup organic apple juice concentrate
Tasty Recipe
In a large saucepan combine all ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and let simmer until thick, stirring occasionally (1 hour).
When the pumpkin butter has thickened immediately pour into hot sterilized jars and seal according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Serve with pancakes or toast for a delicious seasonal spread!
Life’s A Peach® BBQ Sauce
Tasty Ingredients
6 containers of Tastybaby Life's a Peach™, defrosted
1 ½ cup of vinegar
1 cup of cooking oil
1 cup of brown sugar
¾ cup of 100% pure maple syrup
3 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice
2 tablespoons of Dijon mustard
1 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 clove of garlic, minced
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp of ground ginger
2 tablespoons of corn starch
Tasty Recipe
Dissolve cornstarch in water. Combine all ingredients in saucepan and bring to a slow boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent burning.
When the BBQ sauce is has thickened immediately pour into hot sterilized jars and seal according to manufacturer’s instructions. Serve with grilled shrimp, chicken or ribs!
