MLO: DR. DEAN: MALIBU PETS' BEST FRIEND

Dean Graulich has been Malibu's favorite veterinarian for years and his Malibu Coast Animal Hospital is a who's who of pooches & kitties.  Locals always joke that he seemed destined for his role as Malibu's animal savior since his last name is pronounced "Growl Lick!"

Because the pets he looks after are some of Malibu's most beloved and treasured residents, "Dr. Dean," as he is called, is an important part of the community.  Although he and his wife, Dana treat countless animals a year, they never seem to fail to remember every pet's name, personality and medical history.  They are known for their professional and deeply caring approach, and their follow-up calls to make sure pets they've treated are recovering well at home are an indication of how dedicated they are to their patients and their community. The vets try never to turn away animals in need.  They are known for taking in lost or wild animals, healing them and placing them with local families.

Dr. Dean and his wife are deeply committed to Malibu, as this is the place they have chosen as their home and to raise their own family.  Their favorite thing about Malibu is that for a town that is growing in size, it still retains its small-town character.  And while Malibu gained its fame as a seaside haven for Hollywood, it is the surf culture that gives the town its unique feel.
For these pet docs, a perfect day in Malibu includes a drive up the coast on a clear day, and enjoying the view from their deck surrounded by their four dogs.
