MALIBU LOCALS ONLY: CHRIS CORTAZZO
Chris Cortazzo was born in Los Angeles and has lived his whole life on Point Dume in Malibu, This local insight and knowledge into the Malibu coastline and community gives him a unique ability to find his clients their ideal homes. He has been a consistent top producer who demonstrates the highest level of professionalism in listing and selling high-end properties. He specializes in creating a specific marketing plan to give each property its full exposure.
Although life as the number one sales agent in Malibu (with a sales volume of over $400 million during the past two years) is pretty glamorous, there is a simple side to Chris that has not changed since his childhood days growing up on Point Dume, one of Malibu’s most charming beach-side neighborhoods. In fact, his home is immediately next door to his parents’ house, which they built over 50 years ago and continue to live in today.
Chris’ favorite leisure activities also remain the same as when he was a child and teenager – water sports and spending time with animals are his most cherished pastimes. If Chris isn’t working, chances are you’ll find him on his surfboard, paddling off Little Dume, or tending to his vast menagerie of chickens, turkeys, guinea fowl and other birds. (These feathered friends are Chris’ pets, many of which he saved from poultry farms.)

As a “simple Malibu kid,” Chris has a unique view to share with his clients. "I am familiar with Malibu's properties and locations. I not only have a valuable historical perspective of the area, but I also have the most updated and relevant information regarding schools, beaches, beach rights, water quality, hiking trails, wind and weather patterns and other area specific issues. My extensive knowledge of Malibu, both personal and professional, is an indispensable advantage for my clients."
Chris has made a conscious effort to channel his success to help others. He is deeply involved in animal-rights and environmental issues (in fact, he is a vegan), and strongly supports the arts and AIDS charities, among other causes.
From a personal standpoint, Chris cherishes the opportunity he has to live near his parents and maintain a close and supportive relationship with them. From a professional standpoint, Chris's life-long familiarity with the area helps other people visualize a "house" as a "home" in Malibu. Either way, Malibu is "home sweet home" for Chris.
