THE POWER OF WIND POWER
We have a commitment to being as environmentally friendly as possible & we are proud of the choices we've been able to make in our packaging & printed materials. We choose recyclable & biodegradable resources whenever possible, print our boxes, brochures & all other paper goods with vegetable & soy inks, and we encourage recycling.
Tastybaby packaging is printed by Cedar Graphics, Inc., a division of EarthColor, Inc., recognized by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as the #1 largest purchaser of renewable (wind power) energy in the printing sector. Tastybaby is very proud that the firm we partner with to create our planet-friendly packaging is now 100% powered by a natural, renewable resource ... wind! EarthColor has been committed to "green" practices for many years. They purchase 25,002,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean, renewable energy each year. The estimated environmental benefit of this purchase is equivalent to planting over 2.2 million trees, or not driving over 29 million miles* every year!
All manufacturing divisions of EarthColor, Inc. are actively pursuing (FSC) “Forest Stewardship Council” Chain-of Custody certification. The FSCs mission is to ensure environmentally responsible use of our forests from “seed to end user.” All links in the usage “Chain” are under close scrutiny & regular audit. They include land management, forestry, lumber & paper manufacturing, printing & bindery, recycling & all other related “links” in the use of our precious natural resources. FSC procedures & protocols have been incorporated into every department of Cedar Graphics’ workflow.
Cedar Graphics prints with vegetable-based inks & continues to be a well-recognized “waterless” capable printer. The environmental benefits of printing waterless, aside from the dramatic conservation of water resources, is the elimination of dampening solutions with their inherent volatile organic compounds (VOCs), further decreasing their greenhouse gas emissions.
At Tastybaby, we can’t think of a better way to celebrate Earth Day!
