FOOD EMPORIUM & TASTYBABY PRE-FATHER'S DAY EVENT

The minute we met Michael from The Food Emporium in NYC, we knew we’d met our kind of grocery guy.  For one thing, in his very first reply to our email, he addressed us as “Tasty Ladies,” so we knew he had our number!  Then we met Emily (fabulous mother of 2), Danny, Andrew, Shabeer & Steve, and Tastybaby®’s entrée into NYC was off & running.  After working
together on a few events, we all decided it was time to unleash “the big one” on Manhattan.  Our pre-Father’s Day party at TFE’s flagship BridgeMarket store was a smash hit.  We even garnered a mention in the New York Post’s Page Six gossip column & Fashion Week Daily’s ultra-cool events wrap-up!!

But excitement like that doesn’t just build itself.  It takes work & as the saying goes, it’s good to have friends … ours definitely didn’t disappoint.

Reggie, a stylish NYC mom of 2 adorable girls, Amelia & Isabel, somehow managed to mobilize Manhattan mommies to turn out in droves.  Maybe it was the fact that she went all over town asking groovy coffee shops and hip kids boutiques to display our posters in their windows!  Ali, a Tastybaby.com blogger & expectant mom threw herself into the cause, toting a stack of invites along to her yoga classes, incase she happened to bump into anyone else with a bump.  And then there’s Peter, perhaps our single biggest fan (with only canine & feline “babies” of his own), who was a force of nature on Facebook, creating what felt like a 24/7 Tasty forum online!

Thanks to lots of helpers (including Tina, who flew out from LA to lend a hand!) & live performances by the Little Maestros Orchestra, fabulous face-painting, tasty tattoos, balloon artistry & Dad-themed arts & crafts projects, our guests were all highly entertained.  We had a yummy smoothie bar, featuring 3 kinds of organic smoothies, each made with a Tastybaby® flavor.  (“Peaches & Cream Smoothie” made with Life’s a Peach™, “Totally Hip Smoothie”
made with Hip 2B Pear™ & our classic “Bango™ Smoothie.”)  All the snacks also featured Tastybaby® as key ingredients, from the always-popular Sweetie Pie Cupcakes to the Squash ‘Em Quesadillas & even Bollywood Baby™ Dip with veggie sticks (click here for recipes).

And boy did everyone score with our tasty goody bags, loaded with loot including 1st Juice, Vitamin Water, Method cleaning supplies, Earth Friendly paper goods, Juicy Couture body lotion & much more! Our dad blogger, Mike Levinson, even donated copies of his book, “Buff Dad” as a special Father’s Day gift for the guys.

So, next time you happen to notice a tasty-looking poster in the window of your favorite corner store or if one of your friends keeps posting 'Tasty' references on a Facebook page, pay attention … you won’t want to miss our next tasty party!!
