When we first met Lisa Blau who, together with Amanda Freeman, created Vital Juice Daily, we knew we'd met a girl we could hang out with! Not only does Lisa have a tasty sense of style (we loved the cardigan she wore when we met in Chicago!), but she and Amanda really seem to have their fingers on the pulse of what busy, health-minded and fashion-conscious women want. Their email newsletter is full of interesting and relevant tips. And now, they've introduced Vital Juice for Moms -- the same great, user-friendly format, full of information that's specifically for moms. Vital Juice for Moms is as fun as it is useful, and it will certainly help any busy mother cut through the confusion created by the myriad products and services for moms and kids. Now that is Tasty!

Vital Juice Daily offers well-conscious women and Moms independence from the confusion that is the health and wellness landscape. Every day we are increasingly bombarded with different messages, new products and conflicting reports. Like your “go-to” friend, The Vital List for Moms will empower women to break through the clutter, focus on what’s important, what’s best, what’s fun — all the products, services and resources that can help them make healthier choices every day for their families and themselves.
We were inspired to create Vital Juice Daily because we felt there wasn’t a truly easy way to get all of the health and wellness information that we wanted — especially from the types of sources we enjoy reading. We love email —it’s quick, easy and efficient and we can read it on the go! But we were no longer reading the shopping-driven emails that we had subscribed to when we were in our 20s. We didn’t have time for restaurant openings and sample sales! We wanted answers to questions like, “how can I take better care of myself? My husband? Our families?”. Simply put, our priorities had shifted and we noticed that our friends’ had too. Yet no one was talking to us in the way we liked to consume information: fast, first and fun!

We knew VJD needed to be a quick read — we’re competing for our readers’ attention with so many different media sources, not to mention jobs, families and social commitments. These wellness-conscious women don’t have time to spend hours online, so we wanted to give them a fast read. We also wanted to be bringing them “firsts.” That can mean we’re the first to tell them about a new exercise class, or the first to remind them of something they may have forgotten or never known, or the first to put a new spin on something old. VJD is a mix of breaking news and trends, grounded with the important facts and fundamentals of a healthy lifestyle.
As for the fun, well, our favorite source for advice are our friends, so we wanted our readers to look to us as the friend who’s always in the know, willing to share and always there to cheer you up and on!
We first launched with VJD and soon recognized that many of our most avid readers are young Moms. They were asking us for the same healthy living tips and trends, but for their whole families. We thought there was no better way to expand our content offering than to create a product especially for the Chief Wellness Officer of every family: Moms! We’re thrilled to be launching this list and are loving every second of it! We’re learning so much … and so are our subscribers!

The experience of launching VJD has been invigorating and exhausting! As the TastyBaby Moms can attest—it’s hard work! But we love every minute of it. What keeps us going is that we genuinely believe in what we’re doing and take pride in knowing that we may be helping our subscribers make healthier choices every day! There’s nothing better than when a subscriber writes to tell us they’ve tried one of our tips and have noticed an improvement in their wellbeing. We’ve always worked hard in our careers, but this is the first job we’ve had that gives us pride in knowing that hard work is impacting people in a positive way.
Our ultimate goals, dreams, ambitions are what every start-up wants: to have millions of well-conscious subscribers who benefit from VJD emails every day! Seriously, we hope the VJD brand grows a loyal following and community … and that through our efforts we can build a brand that makes healthy living fun, inspiring and accessible. So many health content providers online are serious or overwhelming. All we’re asking is for women who aspire to a healthy life to take 60 seconds to read a short email every day, and in exchange we hope to leave them with something healthy and “well-thy”. We hope to build VJD into a real presence in the online and mobile healthy living space — and from there we hope to extend the brand into other media.
