ECO-ART: MAKE A CRUNCHY-SPOOKY-SCARY PILLOW
brought to you by Tinker
Halloween is just around the corner, and we all have a ton of old t-shirts around that are just gathering dust. Let's use a few to make some halloween pillows to decorate the house with. Not only won't you have to buy any Halloween decorations, you'll free up some space in your drawers as well.
Supplies:
One old t-shirt any color and size.
Scissors
Permanant markers
Newspaper, bubble wrap, tinfoil (whatever you can think of that will make cruchy sounds...)
Optional: fabric scraps, beads other decorations....
1. Take your old shirt, any size any color and cut it into whatever shape you'd like you pillow to be.

2. Mark off and area the size you'd like your pillow to be, being sure to keep at least two inches all the way around. Longer is fine too, you'll just have longer fringe.

3. Start cutting slits. This will be what you tie later.

4. Once you have cut all the way around it should look kinda like this. If your shirt was blank then go on to the next step, if it has something printed on it you can decide if you'd like that on you pillow or not. If not then turn the pieces inside out so they are blank on both sides of the pillow.

5. Start tying the strips from each side together. Just tie in a regular knot but be sure to leave a little opening so you can stuff your pillow.

6. Look around your house and find some recyclables to stuff you pillow with. Things that make crunching, popping or crinkling sounds are the best, that way it will surprise people when they sit down!

7. Fill you pillow up as much as you want to and then finish tying it shut.

8. Now decorate you pillow with whatever you have handy. We used sharpie markers, but you can use paint, other fabric, yarn, straw....
